The economic shock of the COVID-19 crisis continues to impact the American workforce this week. A whopping 17 million Americans have filed for unemployment in the last three weeks, repeatedly breaking a record set in 1967, according to Politico. Many of these workers belong to the food industry, with service sectors being hit particularly hard. In addition to the CARES Act, states continue to develop their own relief programs geared towards supporting restaurants and workers. Restaurant Business reported on state-level assistance programs being implemented across the country; here is a breakdown of what each state is doing for restaurants impacted by COVID-19.
