reCONNECT 2020 is Going Virtual!
FoodLogiQ’s user group meeting is going to be a little different this year; learn what to expect from the virtual rendition of our annual event and why you should attend! At the heart of FoodLogiQ’s work is a commitment to building a more connected food supply chain. Facilitating compliance, data quality and millions of critical tracking events (over 37 million, to be exact!) is only a piece of the puzzle. We know that bringing our partners together—creating a platform for knowledge sharing, collaboration, education and community—is an essential piece of achieving a stronger and more effective food system.
Since 2018, FoodLogiQ has held an annual, multi-day user group meeting in our home state of North Carolina. The reCONNECT conference has always served as an important tenet of FoodLogiQ’s own food safety culture, and provides a unique opportunity to build camaraderie around the future of food safety, as well as the FoodLogiQ Connect platform.
Originally scheduled for March (and then rescheduled for September), this year’s event was designed to be our biggest yet, complete with additional programming for both FoodLogiQ customers and suppliers. As it has become increasingly clear that the most effective event we could host would be a virtual one, we’ve refigured the conference structure in order to deliver inspiring talks in an on-demand format, while maintaining important community-building activities. Here are a few things to look forward to during reCONNECT 2020, the virtual edition:
1. On-Demand Educational Programming and Training
For the first time ever, we’re offering a series of user group trainings for customers and suppliers, plus an introduction to FoodLogiQ Connect for our special guests. Don’t miss sessions like Connect 101/201, account management best practices, reporting basics, and supplier management tips and tricks.
2. On-Demand Industry Insights on Technology and Traceability
We may not have a crystal ball to see into the future, but we do have food industry insights, thanks to Lucelena Angarita of IPC/Subway and FoodLogiQ’s Julie McGill. In addition, learn about tech-enabled supply chains and RFID technology from Sue Flake of Zebra Technologies and Amy Awe of Avery Dennison.
3. Live Roundtables Discussions
The Virtual reCONNECT Roundtables will provide a small group setting for deeper dives on the future of traceability, data management and APIs, working with suppliers in the new normal, and the reinvention of the restaurant, in addition to topics on branding, food safety culture and withdrawal management. Get face time with industry leaders, and talk through pressing food industry topics with your peers and the FoodLogiQ team.
4. On-Demand Customer Stories
We’re more excited than ever for reCONNECT on-demand sessions led by food safety experts from some of the most innovative companies in the industry, including sweetgreen, Whole Foods Market, First Watch and Red Lobster.
5. Low-Key, Virtual Gnocchi Cooking Class
Each year, FoodLogiQ hosts a fundraising activity to support our local food bank. This year, we’re excited to host our first virtual fundraiser to help address a number of issues in our local community. reCONNECT attendees are invited to register for a virtual cooking class, which will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, with Jill Santa-Lucia, President and CEO of Catering Works! Admittance to the class will be donation-based.
6. Business Use Cases with Industry Leaders
Bryna Wortham and Victoria Goss of Whole Foods Market will give an incredible view into the inner-workings of strategic planning and goal measurement within the Quality Assurance arm of Whole Foods Market. And get exclusive insight on recall management from a case study presented by Jasmine Hagan of First Watch Restaurants and FoodLogiQ’s Jared Burkholder.
7. Live Keynote with Visionary John Keogh
Don’t miss FoodLogiQ CEO Sean O’Leary on the art of food safety in the new normal, followed by our live guest keynote lecture. Industry expert and keynote visionary John Keogh will explore how food transparency and trust play a critical role in the success of any organization.
