The Future of Food Safety: Chipotle and FoodLogiQ present at Future-Food Tech

Hundreds of investors, start-ups, technology companies, and food and ingredients manufacturers convened in San Francisco last month for Future Food-Tech. FoodLogiQ was among the many brands presenting thought leadership and solutions to meet the global food challenge during the two-day event.

FoodLogiQ CEO Dean Wiltse (pictured left) presented alongside Arturo Tanus (right), Food Safety Manager, Produce, at Chipotle Mexican Grill on the topic The Future of Food Safety: A Food Brand Perspective.

The session covered the eight strategic initiatives Chipotle has addressed over the last year including advanced techniques that eliminate pathogens while maintaining food quality, mandatory food safety certification for managers and field leaders, and increased internal and third-party restaurant inspections among others.

One of these eight strategic initiatives is FoodLogiQ’s enhanced ingredient traceability platform

"I've heard the term 'farm-to-fork' for over a decade," said Wiltse. "We are truly delivering it."  Watch Dean’s full presentation below or access his slides here:

Additional speakers at this year's event included Margaret Dohnalek, Global Head of Technology Scouting at PepsiCo; Mary Kay James, Vice President and General Manager of Tyson New Ventures; Chris Mallett, Corporate Vice President, Research & Development at Cargill; and Bruce Friedrich, Executive Director of The Good Food Institute. Additional panel discussions focused on mega trends set to disrupt the global food system and answered questions like why are big meat companies investing in meat-free alternatives? What will future generations be demanding from food?

The Rethink Ag and Food Innovation Week consists of the World Agri-tech Innovation Summit, the Future Food-Tech Summit, a Pre-Summit Tour on Innovation in Action, and an Access Latin America Workshop. Future Food-Tech is an annual event which is held in London, New York City, and San Francisco.
